Yesterday, or Tomorrow?

poetboy5454

Each petal flickered and danced in the wind

Which pushed it along as it began to consume

All other flowers as the green would now rescind

Replaced by the growing blaze, its fiery tomb

Smoke rising, a final memoir to the slain

Reinforcements were ushered in by the breeze

Urgently sending out an arsenal of damp rain

Falling from the sky, exploding them with ease

Leaving ashy corpses to rest below the stars

Time the caretaker comes to bury their remains

Screams and tears now of the forgotten scars

Upon the scorched land, a bud of green reigns

The cycle is now once again begun

When will we ask, when will it be done?

We are humans, writing the same stories

Just with different words

Same tears, same blood
