Something On My Heart.

kevin browne

Touching something on my heart when I heard you crying
With the darkness sleeping on my mind, she is with God again
Growing up inside the dream I thought she may always be here
The spirits are singing in Gospel choir while I orchestrate her song
A tiny length of time turns eternity into no-one's ultimate desire
Sorry and scorched by the sword which pierced my soul apart
Eyes taunting upon my very own existence with a hardened blow
I crouch down behind the shield of reality which beckons me in
Creeping out underneath the emotions which flattened her laugh
There is no distance on my way to see where Socrates is a host
To hear the wise man shout out and say "Those who are hardest to love, need it The most"
Unlikely for when the disappearance of life has faded out
We come and go as everyone else but the pain is tenfold when now she's gone away
A mind blowing intuition that allows to rest up underneath itself
Screaming for the horror to rest in hell while Heaven is asleep
Remaining moments crush down on those thoughts that explode
Tearing down the terror of living without your hand to hold
A love is more beautiful than any Claude Monet paintings of Nature
More loving than the Sistine Chapel ceiling painted by Michelangelo
And while the greatest love of all has turned all misty morning dew
I wave in the glory of knowing where my heart is placed to be
In serving up a spoonful of another one one day when my love is buried deep
Come along my beauty queen, lay down beside me and sleep.

This is mind-blowing work Kevin - the twists and turns of description and wording simply beguile and intrigue from the very first line. A thoroughly engaging read.

I've carefully pilfered your heart here, in the midst of these many words, and the rarest thought that ached me so is the thought of sleeping Heaven. Just. Aah.
