What is life?

lost-but-not-broken17

Life is a mansion
That stands on the pillars of hope.

Life is a span
That needs to be covered with cautious steps.

Life is a stepping stone
That guides you to achieve your destination.

Life is a preacher
Who overpowers you with majestic valour.
And inspires you to tread the rugged path
With zealous vigour.

Life is a guardian
Who would always be encouraging
But never sympathetic.

Life is a thorny bush
That brings forth fragrant blossoms to those
Who choose to persevere.

Life is a reward of God.
Initiation and culmination of it is God's discretion.
It is the retrospect of man,
Which decides the fruitfulness of his life.

Life is a mansion
That stands on the pillars of hope.

As did your work, for me to give as an example that Wisdom doesn't always come with age

Sorry for your sadness. The way you wrote it is so beautiful that I can only see directions on it. I think you are already in the path to overcome it.

"It is what it is" as your poem so eloquently expresses. It can be a bitch at times , and oh so beautiful at others. Do you think it may have been designed that way? Just a thought.

            • lost-but-not-broken17

I feel like life was designed as a choice and divided into two paths... And the path you choose is the way you live it. It can be a bitch and that's when you have to choose to stay strong if you choose the path of happiness

Thank you for that thoughtful reply.

When you walk through a storm
                  Hold your head up high
And dont be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
                  There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark

                  Walk on through the wind
Walk on thru through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
                  Walk on, walk on
                  With hope in your heart
                  And you'll never walk alone
                  You'll never walk alone
                  Rogers & Hammerstein

Hello. Im very pleased you like those fine words. They were made famous over here in England by a group out of Liverpool in the 1960's when i was a youngster. Gerry and the Pacemakers they were called and they were famous alongside the Beatles who hailed from liverpool also. The song is sung by supporters of Liverpool Football (soccer) Club as their anthem wherever the team play. An incredible sound of several thousand untrained voices is quite awesome. Here is a youTube URL for the recording i mentioned. It's also been covered by Elvis Presley and many others.

Your reaction to bad news shines out like a beacon in this positive verse - - I love that first and last line which shows ;your outstanding courage to face life's challenge for just what it is. Bravo for sharing this inspiring piece of poetic intention to walk your path with unbroken spirit.
