Shadow Dog

lostgirl24

I hear your paws on the stairs,
Your soft bark in the night;
But not even all my prayers,
Could bring you into sight.

I feel you sitting next to me;
Your fur is now ice cold;
But I know I'll never get to see
Your face so white and old.

I know you're here, Jack,
Standing by my side,
And I've wanted you back,
Since the day you died.

        Losing a pet is gut-wrenching, especially when you've had them for so long. Amazing tribute x
