Enslavement

Trev

Take me by the hand
Wrap me with chains
I live for you, my body is a brand
Night and day, for you my mind pains

Your scent from my conscience, I can not clear it
You have broken my spirit
I love you, I hate you
Which do I choose, when you leading me to an early due?

I can't say I'm an only victim
Everyone you touch
Leaving them with you as their crutch
What is your purpose? Your impact is just too much

Bourbon or Xanax
Lust or gluttony
I see, feel and react from your attacks
Nobody escapes you, you are an Omega.

You are the human addiction
We were born into this affliction
Murderer, you leave people lifeless on the pavement
You will be stopped, no longer drowned in this enslavement

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this trying to infuse my viewpoint on addiction. I have struggled with it a lot, and I continue to. Hope you enjoy.
