Solemn Flower

BadThiliono

I have no power

Find me wherever I might reach a shower

Your garden or perchance a field

Come and join me

You may lay beside me for a hour

I ask that you not crush me for then I would be dour

Pluck me to sniff

I yield but only for a wiff

Perhaps you wish me to adorn you

To make a look beyond compare

Careful I do not thorn you

Please have a care

In times of strife you may pass me to a loved one to eliminate their dread

I could invent on their face a smile

You could paint me on your dead

Perhaps their beauty will last a while

I told you I have no power

But behold me a single solemn flower

Solemn is a good word. I like the way you describe things, very innovative.
