When is a man a man?

CrissDavies

When he can fix cars like he can fix feelings or when he can break hearts like he breaks promises?

When he has a woman so he can reassure himself of his masculinity or so he feels that his" work is done" and settle into his 3rd beer of the day?

When he can afford everything he wants or when the money comes after his dreams?

When he is interested in his son or if he turns a cold eye and doesn't care?

  • Comment from author about the poem: Please don't take this poem personally. I tried to include stereotypes about men, it is about what society says to gain masculinity.

That line from Damaged Soul/Kindred Spirit's comment here resounds - "Sometimes the softest things in life are the strongest" That goes for men too.
