Dreams

Allan J. Renaldo

I'm sorry,
But it can't be true.
You don't love me,
Yet I love you.
Lies!
You wouldn't dare love me at all!
Lies!
You wouldn't dare fall.
I was dreaming,
Nothing new.
Then like always,
You told me
"I love you."
But you don't,
Or you can't.
It's impossible!
You don't love me!
You don't love me!
Why would you?
I see no point.
You don't love me,
I promise you that,
I promise you this,
If it is true,
If you love me,
You will regret it!
Regret it.
I am heartbreak,
I am misery.
I wouldn't recommend anyone falling
For me.
If I was a story,
(We are all stories)
It would end in pain.
It would leave you crying,
Miserable!
I am pain!
But it doesn't matter,
Because you aren't in love with me.
It's impossible.
Impossible!
Yet you said it,
Or was it all a dream?
I wouldn't be surprised if it was,
It happens quite often.
Usually I'm dying,
And usually I say it first.
And then say that I know you don't love me,
And that's okay!
It's better this way!
I still wish you would hate me.
And then I would die!
Dead dead dead!
I would die and I would never know.
Because I don't want to know,
Do I?
Why don't I want to be loved?
Why don't I want it to be true?
I want to be loved,
I really do.
Yet I push you away,
And I break everything.
I destroy everything that crosses my path,
You aren't an exception.
So run,
Run and save yourself.
Tell me that you were lying,
That in fact,
It was a joke.
Or even worse!
Or is it better?
That it was all in my head,
And say
'How could I love a creature like yourself?'
It would make my day.
Because this way I know,
This way I know for sure
That you will never love me.
This way I know for sure
That I will never be loved.
Because it's wrong,
So very wrong to be loved.
Or for anyone to love me.
But no one does,
It was all a dream.

Love love love. Hmmmmm. If someone ever does truly love you, I suggest you seriously consider mending your broken view of yourself. Love is a pillar on which castles of mind can stand. Good write, thanks.

They have said as much, and I'm afraid that I wish it was not the truth. But thank you for being so kind as to help me with your words.

"They" say a lot of things. It's your job to figure out just how much of it is true. You're very welcome.
