The Past

BadThiliono

I am the past

I am that which colors your name

I am that which perhaps causes much pain

Some choose to pay me no heed

Some would rather they had not done such a deed

Others rejoice in the yesterday

Others remember their way

I am that loved one you have locked away

I am that loved one you celebrate to this day

To many I am a childhood of fright

To many I am a parent's delight

I am that wisdom you crave

I am your own minds slave

But to all I am the same; the sole heir to your name

Face me, for I am what you were last

Face me, for if not you may live too fast

Face me, for I am your wrath

Face me; your everlasting past
