I NEED

Bleona Hasanaj

I am cold, I have an urge for the sun, but believe me, I have a bigger urge for you.

I am raising my head up to hide my tears in the rain drops..

I find a hideaway to sit with sadness and escape for a while,

With my hands shaking, I am finishing my last drag before my body starts twisting..

Whilst the smoke is roaming around my body, all I can think is to call your name.

As I seek fulfilment from the smoke, I still hear the echo of your name with the splashing of the rain.

I see the old tree that reminded me of the times in my grandmother's house,

Now all drenched like me from a child thinking so freely to now just thinking of you.

I throw away the bunt, take two steps forward as I shout for you..

I am seeing your shadow, but everything is in vain

It was another man...never you.
