Hard Rain

Adri

Hard Rain

Hard rain on my face,
On my body like an alkalade,
No where to hide,
No where to go,
Encompassing every inch of terrain,
Clearing the large webs of pain,
No choice,
No voice,
It runs through my mind,
from that child left behind,
Stripped to the bone,

Hard rain on my face,
Warm drops replaced,
With strength
Once a child,
Now grown,
Not feeling,
Ever alone

  • Comment from author about the poem: A moment in time when a child feels trapped and unprotected. I loved playing in the rain, it made me feel renewed and free. On occasion, we just need to play in the rain!

Yes I grew up to Dylan songs and I do know the song you are speaking about. He was a master with words. My poem is a completely different topic than Dylans final measage. I just began this journey so, all I can do is learn. I will read all your poems and let you know which is my favorite. Thank you!!!💖

Adri, this is a great poem! Love it! I always like the rain. Not so much the freezing rain when I was living in Montreal. But for the last 30 years living in Hawaii, I have been enjoying it again. Tropical downpours though are something else.

Must have been on the Hilo side, Kailua-Kona is rather dry. You are right, the Big Island is beautiful. I do prefer Oahu though.
