It's So Quiet Now

M. Mohon

Four walls and a roof.
A TV and a couch.
A guitar in the corner with
The amp turned way too loud.

The static and the backfeed
Just seem to ease my mind.
It's so quiet since she left,
But I'm in no mood for sounds.

Atleast not the overpowering ones.
The ones that fill yours ears
Drowning out your thoughts
And chasing away your fears.

It's just enough to help me focus
Between what's in my head and real.
While I wonder lost in thoughts
About the woman no longer here.

I loved her so much, you know.
I told her every chance I got.
The problem is I was impatient
For that asshole to be forgot.

I told her, a lover would never hit you,
Or make you fear for your life!
A lover would protect you.
Mind and body.  Day and night.

I knew her mind was scattered
And my trying so hard made it worse.
So she packed her things and left me here.
So, I put it into verse.

Tsukasa, I like it, a well written and rhymed poem. It is tough being rejected when trying hard to be comforting. But some people just don't get it, or need a long time to realize the truth.

sounded really brilliant to me. I felt every emotion you wrote about as I read each line.

is this poem about your father or a father.

No, it's about a friend of mine I was trying to help get out of a bad situation. We ended up getting close, but with everything going on she closed herself off.

Yes this is a well penned piece. I interpreted this as the gal u loved upset you with her obvious memory of a previous lover which led to tension between u and she walked. Nicely penned story. Vivid pictures.

I felt the ache in your heart, the emptiness in your mind. The quiet surround you, drained you, engulf you. Once you are out of it, you are reborn. May the song "Un-break my heart" by Toni Braxton soothe your heart.
