Glimpses of India

daisychain

Colourful scenes awaited my eyes as I flew into India for my great surprise,

A very grand airport all plush and new, bustling and busy as we made our way through.

New Delhi stretched out with its fine tree lined roads, its beautiful flowers and precarious loads,

Lovely hotels surrounded by trees, and gentle waiters eager to please.

Our tour began with a visit to the Taj,

A shimmering white sight in this land of the Raj

The warmth of the sun and the wonderful air continued to please at the sights so fair,

All nationalities meeting together

Enjoying the scenes and the beautiful weather.

Visits to forts and temples galore

Nice spicy food and so much more

A colourful elephant, a man on his back

Making his way along the dirt track

Glimpses of camels carrying their loads

Viewed from our coach as we sped along roads.

Colourful saris and beautiful trees,

Amazing blue skies continued to please;

Trinkets and bracelets at markets galore

Selling their wares from their colourful store

A feast for the eyes wherever you go

The magic of India will give you a glow.
