Rose Pedal

Domi

I see you swim,

Around and around,

As the light reveals,

Your many colors,

Your fins spread out,

Like a rose pedal,

Single yet multiple,

With hues of blue,

Splashes of purple,

The depths of black,

You move in slow motion,

With grace and ease,

With purpose and poise,

I think Im jealous,

You have no worries,

Simplicity at its finest,

Beauty in every color,

Movements as fluid,

As the water,

I wish I could be you,

To be beautiful,

In all eyes,

To be wanted,

Cared for,

Graceful,

In the world of ugly,

And faults,

Just float and die,

With no regrets in the world,

But not swimming,

To the other side sooner.

Very beautiful poem Domi, love how you describe your fish. I even understand why you would want to slip into that role, but don't forget, fish have only a 3-second memory. You really want that? 🙂

Ha ha I see your point. But one can only dream right?

A fine poetic expression of longing through analogy. Well done, Domi!
