Sinking Skeletons

poetboy5454

Out of your mouth begins the river of lies

Littered with bones, blood, and broken ties

Promises of a brighter future, a step towards the light

But for now all we know is real, is this endless night

Our voices swept away by the waves of greed

Infested by betrayal, singing an ode of your deeds

Tomorrow's skeleton, broken and spread around

Cracked jaw, silence it's final sound

Meant to be lost amongst the lake of sins

Hidden by your plastic flowers and painted grins

Now that Truth has now been made hollow

Readjusted to be forgotten along with our woes

The Mass of our Hope divided by the Volume of our Dreams

Creating a Density for the skeletons to float once again

Providing us a chance to see the sun's rays gleam

You may have your blood, but do not dare doubt our ink

For in this tussle with Destiny, we will rise before we sink

though the sink to the sea,
      they shall rise again.
