Somewhere else

katherinem7

I wish I lived somewhere else.
Somewhere with low-branched
Trees, ones I can climb on.
Somewhere with lilac bushes
Adorning every lawn
And quiet rivers running
Through tranquil forests.

I wish I lived somewhere
With people like me;
Not the cruel, vile beasts
Whom I live among now.
I want to run through meadows
And drown in sunflowers.
I want to dip my toes
In warm streams
And bathe in the shade of a willow tree
While the sun peaks through,
Smiling at me.
