One Mind, Two Sides

Bluedog783

Day by day this life passes on
So quickly from dusk until dawn
I look at the sky sometimes and wonder
What lies over yonder

Doubt, rage, sadness and fear
All the voices that I hear
They drag me further and further down
All the while I rot in this town

I feel there’s no way out
At times I just have to shout
God are you here with me
As I wander about aimlessly

The emotions, they swell inside
It’s impossible to hide
How I truly feel
Though others think I’m steel

Those viewed as the strongest
Are usually really the weakest
Despair worms its way in
It makes you want to turn to sin

Maybe it’ll distract you from reality
The truth is it destroys your spirituality
The connection you once had now severed
Your body and soul weathered

God can you hear what I have to say
Will I live through today
Or will I pass from this life
By the edge of a knife

Though it all seems hopeless
He can pull you through the mess
Chain up your sin and drop in the deepest ocean
He doesn’t care where you’ve been

No matter how small or large
Let him take charge
Then you shall see
How joyful you will be

Cry out to the one who’s son was sent
Make up your mind and repent
Believe upon the savior
And prepare for that beautiful golden shore

Keep writing because writing is also reflection.

Yes, it's a good way to reveal to yourself and others how you feel about your life and the things that go on that you just can't really say verbally.
