Suffer With Me

TychotheObserver

Suffer with me, my addict's delight

Suffer with me, my euphorious blight

But suffer with me and you'll take all you can

So suffer and see where my hell all began

Soon you'll see that it's never enough

And soon it'll be that times are tough

But brave these moments, the pain, the fear

Brave it all, though I know it's severe

And fight these terrors whilst they persist

Fight I beg, I plea, insist

For life's incredible, fragile and fleeting

And these drugs are evil, vicious, misleading

To suffer my way there's a price you see

We'll soon be buried because you are me

  • Comment from author about the poem: This speaks from my standpoint as an addict. Note, I am NOT suicidal I am just citing the risk involved and the possible fate of those who cannot gain control of it.

I see the pain as an addict recovered 22 years. Raw and eloquently expressed.

Your couplets of rhyme exactly express the utter hell and dead ends of addiction. Well done!
