I Shall A Gentle Heart Be

TiffanyR

I Shall A Gentle Heart Be

If I can dry one tear

from thy cheek,

I shall a gentle heart be;

If I can hear your prayer and plea,

or calm a fearful sigh,

Or right one wrong,

and light your painful cry,

I shall a gentle heart be.

(An adaptation of an Emily Dickinson poem, I Shall Not Live in Vain)
