Paper girl

_madefromthestars_

She was a paper girl
Living her paper life
She was fragile
Yet oh so strong
She stood tall and mighty
Till the fire inside him
Burned her down

She was an ashened girl
Living an ashened life
She was broken
But never broke down
She fell away
Till the love inside him
Helped her up

They were paper people
Living their paper lives
Together they were better
Then they ever were apart
And they would try
To put them down
But the love inside them
Was stronger than fear.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Sorry it's kinda bad but I thought of this after reading a poem by Amanda Lovelace in her book The Princess Saves Herself In This One. Which I've probally now read at least five times it my favorite.

Hey I'm new here too. I liked your poem, which is saying something since I usually dislike love poems.

This is so powerful. It speaks of the empowering virtue of love regardless of stature, class, race or sexuality. Excellent.
