promise

rosebel

oh my ginger baby
how gentle is your soul
but so tough is your shield
what other choice do you have
a warrior that no one can recognize
you won't let them come too near
are you missing something?
so many sweet kisses
firmly wrapping your arms around my mind
who would've known the high school bully would be sleeping with the bullied
I can see right through you though
such pure intentions
Yet such filterless lips
but I can feel the warmth in you
no matter how cold your hands might be
something's holding you back aggressively
you know no other manner than selfishness
but you cater to me
you're so willing
incredibly willing to fix what has gone wrong
no one sees your heart
but I hear it, every time I rest my head on your indestructible chest
it beats like the rest of us
you're missing something
could be the lack of affection
empty relationships
they say there's light at the end of the tunnel
but baby, you only encountered darkness
at a dead end with nothing but regrets looking back at you when you attempted to back track
then came we
if it wasn't for you, it'd be just me
admiration fills the holes in my punctured hope whenever I gaze at you
I promise to be more, enough, more than enough
to hold you when you simply don't want to talk about it
to be all ears when you can't stop talking about it
Whatever it is, I promise
to show you, you deserve love
In the sweetest way
Although I cannot promise I won't be sour sometimes
the bounce back will be worth the set back
Then you'll wonder to yourself why you were ever worried
