You

DyingDreams

Your eyes opened gates that laid shut all these years

I can walk in a land that shed many tears

I can face all the sounds that hurt many ears

I can feel your hand expel all of my fears

I know we haven't known each other for long

But I feel, with each other, we just belong

You turned me to a light I thought had burned out

You showed me an ocean in the midst of a drought

You gave me a light in the middle of night

You gave me the sight to pierce all of my blight

Instilled me with strength where only lied weakness

Filled me with hope when empty with bleakness

I'm still in shock that I met someone so great

My soul had a lock meant to last unto fate

I was watching the clock as I stood at the gate

But the second I knock you saved me from Hate

I had given up on finding someone for me

I know I'm not perfect and I never will be

But we are two pieces with edges that fit

We are two candles that have just been lit

We can explore these feelings, too us, are brand new

Because the unknown can't hurt...If I have you
