Gloomy refusal.

Agent of Chaos

The ignorant surround me

It's what makes life so dark and gloomy

I try to help them open their eyes

I try to get them to see through the lies

But they choose to refuse

The deny logic and science

They tell me I'll burn someday

And yet... they expect my compliance...

  • Comment from author about the poem: In the last 6 months, I've become an atheist. And it's been one of the most uncomfortable psychological experiences I've had. People who I once could talk to now seem cult like and blind. If I try and politely help them see things from a different perspective e, they refuse to hear it. It makes life quite gloomy sometimes. Therefore, my 2nd horrible poem on this site, "Gloomy Refusal" is me expressing my frustration. Please don't try to convert me back, it only pisses me off.

The 6th line is supposed to say "They deny logic and science" not "the..."

Hi Bear! That's strange. I'm a Christian and a huge science geek 😁. Your poem isn't horrible, sir. You had a couple of great rhymes there. You said it's your second and I've missed the first, so welcome to the site.

I'm glad you're into science. We need more people who are. I was just talking about how many parts of the Bible go against science in my eyes. And don't get me wrong, many christians fully embrace science, I don't understand how they still believe while doing so, but it happens.

The last two lines make a very important statement IMO, I like it.
