Writing Lyrics for a Song

Edward Charles McDevitt

I was listening to music and the lyrics they used in there,

If I had used those words, I wouldn't get anywhere.

They really are profound and of little sense,

Making me just cringe and very, very tense!

What I want to do is get my words in song,

Even if it takes time, or however long.

I want these words I write somehow to be read,

I don't want recognition when I'm gone or dead.

I don't know if Talent Scouts frequent this site,

Maybe if I Pray, who knows they just might.

See the talent I have for I know that it's a Gift.

It just may inspire, and give some Spirits lift!

Thanks for reading these words of mine I write,

Maybe there's a good end for me in sight!

  • Comment from author about the poem: I just want to be somehow noticed. If there is anyone out there who can give me advice, please let me know. I\\\'ve tried contacting Writers, Producers and anyone else who might hear me. All to no avail! I\\\'ve even tried connecting with the Producer of Nashville! No replies or regrets. Nothing!!!\r\n
