Hired Gun

Edthepoet

Be brave honey
Come on be brave

Forgive babe
Come on forgive

Forget it
Come on forget

Be brave honey
Come on be brave

That look
Kills me
stone dead Inside
A glimmer of hope
Will save my life
What choice
Did I have
But to name my price
Years of honesty
Left us living a lie
Fed up of living
To survive
I did it
So maybe I can shine
A little light
On our darkest of days.

Be brave honey
Come on be brave.
Be brave honey
Come on be brave.

I'll be back
Come the break of day.
I'll kiss you
On the back of your neck
I'll make those hairs
Stand on end

Be brave honey
Come on be brave.

This stunning, i wish you had given some notes of background because i'd love to know the dilemma. Nonetheless i read this 4 times and its so powerful. I really like it, it draws me in and gets me searching for clues.
edit GULP! just saw the title, no clues needed now, still stunning work.

Thank you. I think it\'s about a husband returning to a life of crime after making a promise to his wife to earn straight but he\'s getting nowhere trying to make an honest living..where\'s the fun in revealing everything to the reader? :D.
