Not him

You can encase me in your arms, smother me in comfort, warmth, protection.
Grip my hand while I cry, lose yourself in my eyes like you know me, soldier me through my pain as if it were yours to bear.
Dance with me intuitively, in my space, in my orbit.
Laugh with me, without inhibition , or with a secret glance when we share something precious which no one else knows.
Build me up brick by brick, pick me up off the floor, push me forward, make me progress.
Fuck me so skilfully you make the world stop, whatever my mood is telling you I need.
For all of this ...
And much much more...
I am grateful...
Take a piece of me, it's yours, you can keep it when you leave.
But...
There's this man...
This one man...
That my soul won't, can't, and never will betray...
There's this man I'll love for a lifetime...
And you are not him.
