A Loving You

Edward Charles McDevitt

Although we've been together for seems like many a year,

Last thing on my mind at night is one of you my dear.

Only you can fill the void that is in my heart,

Vast that it can be in me, it's really only a part.

I've loved you since meeting in that old, old car,

Not recognizing others, or even who they are.

Good things come they say, to those who do await,

Yet I was looking forward to our very first date.

Our life turned out a Blessing, that I realize,

Until the end you'll be the star that's in my eyes!
