Why we fight

Jaesopsfables

She is a beautiful creation,

Complicated by those askew with the world

Her once neat lines now tangled

and tainted by forces

darker than her light

yet still: she shines

if but dimly lit

a thin shaft of light beneath a heavy, black door -

sealed by a complex lock,

Yet for as long as that dim light creeps

through darkened, frightened halls

Hope; illuminated

To battle the black

To free the light

To unleash the beauty

From the darkest night

Is why we fight

Is why we fight
