Blink

Frankie Ross

There is so much about me you don't know.
I get hallucinations, but some of you might know that.
It's... weird.
It's not like dogs with three heads or couches with mouths.
I see cars colliding, people killing themselves, people decapitated.
And then I blink and it's all gone.
Everything is dandy.
I see guns to peoples heads, endless murders, countless houses being robbed.
And then I blink and it's all gone.
Hush...everything is alright.
I promise I'm fine.
It's not like an LSD trip where you see banshees drinking beers in a car or green cats with more eyes than they should.
I see starving children, struggling single mothers, dogs with three legs.
And then I blink and it's all gone.
Nobody's there.
I see planes crashing, windows smashing, things no human would ever want to witness.
And then I blink and it's all gone.
Nobody's hurt.
But it's so...so realistic.
It makes me want to hurt myself.
Viewing gory deaths every single day of my life and not being able to talk about it to anyone is what makes my life hard.
And no, I can't control this.
I see so many bad things, so many bad things.
But then I remember.
All I have to do is blink and it's all gone.
