Parody of (Howl by Allen Ginsberg)

Faith Mingle

I saw the extraordinary dedication of my generation being demolished by one letter.

One that they thought would determine their entire existence,

dragging themselves through the sleepless nights looking for a better future.

Every bird burning for the respect and pride and connection to the elders in their high expectations of society,

who created deforestation and pollution and never bothered but sat up

glaringly in the expectation to avoid the darkness of a future that has already

begun floating across the lands of ignorance.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This is literally my parody of a poem. The poem is Howl by Allen Ginsberg. Just to be clear. This was first a homework assignment but my professor saw potential and wanted me to put it in a newspaper. However, that school newspaper is currently unavailable. So just to be clear, this is MY parody of Howl by Allen Ginsberg.
