Scrolling

AuburnScribbler

I’m scrolling, certainly not trolling

Fingers are casually rolling,

So really, I am not patrolling,

Although I will be consoling,

Victims of unlawful trolling,

Although they could be bowling,

They continue their scrolling,

With their hurt still rolling,

Brought on by bad carolling,

By those malignants lolling,

Why not…

Create a new forum for polling,

Of what to do to those trolling,

As their nasty words appalling,

Adds to the net’s condoling,

The net is place for joyous strolling,

But all you hear “it’s got more holes in”

Refill these holes with jovial cajoling,

So, we can start the process of shoaling,

A second chance can be given to those trolling,

To apologise and troll-retire, start the paroling

Then we…

Return to surfing and casual strolling,

On the net that continues unrolling,

With a wave of knowledge and polling,

On current affairs that need controlling,

Such as employment, much enrolling,

From people who want to be involved in

A brand-new start in positive toiling,

Wondrous peace would be unfolding,

But in all this, as I’ve said, I’m not trolling,

I’m just partaking in a spot of scrolling.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem celebrates the wholsomeness and true intention of what the internet is about, rather than having to live in the shadows of malignant and unnecessary trolls. In my opinion, the internet should be a place where people can find much needed information about a particular topic, and unwind comfortably, not another place that is smeared by the ever growing negativity of the age. Hope you enjoy.
