Lost in the Dark

jonnyc1

Watching the clock tick away

Buried in my self made fray

Blinded by the dark covered light

Keeping the smiles from my sight

Wasting today to forget the past

Scraping the heart for a feeling to last

Endless nights turn into years

Washing away the taste of tears

Breathing air through the flame

Living every second of loathing shame

Hoping to wake without the pain

Wishing it all away, washing it all in the rain

A painful heartfelt poem as your first contribution to MPS. Welcome, thanks for sharing and I look forward to more!

You are moving on, it is just too painful to feel it. It takes time and strength to overcome it. Dark as now will diminish eventually. Feel the pain you are feeling now. A nice poem full of strong feelings.
