Acid Reflux

Acid Reflux

Soft kiss with these soft lips, and these harsh words.

This love is liquid like acid, as my reflexes give me heart burn.

I feel a slight churn..

In my stomach..

Butterflies or nausea?

Both?

These highs are so addictive..

But the lows are like rehab.

I'm sending signals via wifi,

as I type letters on my keypad.

But, invitations seem so lo-fi,

when you're use to being left out.

Claustrophobic attachment to this prison is impossible to step out.

I have compassion, and feel connected,

even if you break me and refuse to fix these pieces.

But nobody holds me down like you.

Nobody lets me down like you.

Nobody picks me up like you.

Nobody makes me frown like you.

This food for thought is toxic to my mind, body and soul.

A clean diet has been compromised..

for these pleasures in a bowl, but seem so dull.

Sound familiar?

No,

well you look familiar.

Don't I know you from somewhere?

No,

but you appear peculiar.

I've been aware of you my whole life,

but numb to the pain.

Take these steps, and move like chess,

but play dumb to this game.

You pulled the trigger,

but I put the gun to my brain.

Now I have no one to blame..
