Just enough for now

chris frank

Beautiful, modest, clever, funny

In his arms soft, warm and happy

His fingers can make her sleep in beauty

The girl he likes her, but not too much

He speaks to often, he talks of dreams

She smiles not knowing what he sees

His mind it races too fast beyond emotion

The girl she likes him, but not too much

Like a beautiful book, her pages they turn but slowly

Her thoughts she keeps much closer in

He loves to see, to listen, touch and feel her

He makes mistakes but she forgives him still

She knows with him she can be anyone

No false pretence, her deepest soul she can reveal

Her trust he wants to earn it carefully

His foolish words he will quieten so not to break the spell

At night alone when all around her sleep

The girl can hear his thoughts too loud

Her own mind races, she wonders why

But she knows he likes her, just enough

Their journey, intense but just beginning

They like each other enough for now

But both they know there's something different

A life worth having, a story still to tell
