Love from a Distance

simplybeautiful

No one quit understood the way she was

and when I say that I mean the way she truly was.

She was so strong yet so damaged at the same time,

I could never comprehend her actions until it was too late.

I loved her with all of my heart, with everything inside me

I would pour onto her.

I knew better than to believe her when she said she loved me

because how could she?

The thing is, she is a bird and not the cute small ones you keep as a pet

She is a soaring eagle and to love her the way she is

You have to give her enough space where she doesn't

feel confined.

Love her, but let her go

If you do, she will always be near you

And that is the only way you'll keep her.
