Why Me?

danny13

Sometimes I sit and wonder, why always me?

I dream of a nice life, why can't that be?

Have I been singled out by a cruel, omnipotent being?

Does he find pleasure in my pain, rejoice when I am grieving?

Out of 7 billion people, am I the one he watches?

Does he get a thrill knowing, he has the power to stop this?

Why am I the one, to bear the brunt of his wrath?

Is it punishment for a life, that I have lived in the past?

Or is it really me, who causes my own pain?

Is blaming higher beings, self-centred and vain?

What makes me so special, in a world full of war?

Am I being watched, while starving children get ignored?

Some profound thinking here, Danny! A well presented, wise poem of self-exploration. Kudos!

  • myself and me

Why me? Everyone ask the same question from time to time. Things just happened, like it or not, here it comes. Nice piece.

  • Accidental Poet

So many questions. And each one possibly multiple answers. Many people ask this same question of Why Me? A very fine write.
