Laugh In The Face Of Demons
By Accidental Poet
The Grand Marshal of comedy
You made students of your peers
Blazing a new trail of laughter
A career spanning nearly 40 years
All while inside
You waged a relentless war
Battling stealthy demons
Defiance in the smile you wore
Millions upon millions
To whom you gave of yourself
A loyal following
Of your comic wealth
Generations all touched by you
So effortlessly you entertained
Sad that your comedy
Ineffective against your own inner pain
May you live forever Robin Williams
In the sound of laughter everywhere
And on the faces
The smiles that we all wear

He was a nice guy from what I've heard. A shame that he couldn't press on, like so many others. The loss of life is one of the greatest pains to be felt in this world, and I'm sure it hurt a lot of people when the news arrived. Thanks for the poem, I'm sure he'll like it.
Thanks for your note and compliment Nicholas. Yes a tragic loss to everyone. And I do hope that Robin would feel honored by poem for him.
Good tribute to a clever and funny man.
Thanks Goldfinch, yes Robin Williams rewrote the book on comedy and giving a superb performance.
Thanks AP ~ Fine tribute to a naturally "Funny Man" Expert on voices and an equal to Sellars & Ustinof ~ Gone but never forgoten Heaven is now full of Comedians ! God created the FROG and THE OWL and ADAM ~ so He has a good sense of Humour and will love RW ! Please check my CITY GIRLS ~ Yours BRIAN
Thanks Brian, I'll take a look at your "CITY GIRLS".
A brilliant dedication poem to a brilliant entertainer/comedian! Well done, AP. You might want to consider breaking the font style between Intro and Dedication, and the body of the poem itself. It would have saved me the effort of mentally separating them. I share in your appreciation of Robin!
Thanks for your reading and compliment. I did change the font on the dedication line. Thanks for mentioning.
Nice tribute ...
Thank you sir.
