Just A Tick In Time

Accidental Poet

Tick tock tick tock
Just a tick in time

Eyes follow hands around the clock

And I’m obsessed to rhyme

I need to write

I need to express

No matter the hour, day or night

These foolish notions I must confess

And to one, it might be nonsense

Yet to another

It just could be brilliance

Either way, it brings a smile to my mother

Staring at the contents of the refrigerator

Wasted time, well maybe so

Now it’s a minute later

Than it was a minute ago

Sometimes I’m perplexed

Between what I just did

And what I’ll do next

Guess I’m just an analytical kid

Have you never been split between yes and no?

Such triviality making up your mind

A decision sooner or later you know

But at the moment, you struggle to find

I ask forgiveness for wasting your time

And send you back to your previous endeavor

I’ll continue on with mine

As the second hand ticks on and on forever

A fine write AP. Or - endeavour, even, in English spelling. U knows we adds extra 'u's to some words - humour, colour, etc!

Procrastination is never a waste of time, I propose! That may be why I enjoyed your fine poem so much. It gives one time to reflect before jumping in to act ... or that is my excuse at least. Kudos on this splendid poem, AP!

That's your story and you're sticking to it eh? And a good story it is. Thanks for reading Louis.

As for your last stanza, AP, you did not waste my time, you made my day!
      Thank You!

Thanks wischuett. A result from one of my many humorous moods. Sometimes you just get in that groove and it all comes together so easily.
