And now I'm left picking up the shattered glass
of something that was meant to be plastic.
You had me chewing gum to satiate an appetite I didn't know I had
while guiding my path in the dark with the flickering light from a dying bulb
All the while holding my hand
but not too tightly
so I could, at any moment, slip through your parted fingers
Like I was never even there.

Well written, sad, and impactful, Nox. I really like it!
Thanks, Louis! 🙂
Very well written poem!
Love the first two lines, and also agree with Martina on the second stanza.
Through the cobwebs covering my eyes, I glimpse your image of a path well worn and washed away by tears. Nice imagery.
