Why ask if I'm ok, When you hold a knife to my back, Don't ask me why I cry, When you leave and don't look back.
Why tell me to see the light, When you cover me in shade, Don't tell me to change my mind, When yours has already been made.
Why offer to catch me, When you step back as I fall, Don't tell me to open up, When you made me build this wall.
Why say you're there for me, When all I see is dark, Don't say that's your truthful word, When I heard your last remark.
Why ask me why I'm skeptical, when your words hiss like a snake, Don't force me to trust you, When there's no trust that YOU make.
Though I never ask these questions, For I fear your reply, Isn't it just silly, how that's my reason why?
I don't think it's healthy, to have fear like this toward a friend, But sadly for me, that's how all my friendships end.
