They Never Die

Dent Moses

Why die my guy
You see they can't
Die

I want to care about the cicadas,
Welcoming their gentle scream.
I caught one in a box
And threw it away.
I want to listen to the owls.
Hear them loudly mating
I want the darkest part,
To take you with me.
I want your affection
To be more than just attention

Right now this here is all about me
Simply put that waking up is tragic.

I like your poem Dent, well written!
At my age I cannot agree with your last line though, for me waking up is a godsend....I am still alive! 🙂
