Always busy filling time
never giving up
keep on trying
to find healing for my soul
to fill me up
to make me whole
to complete the picture
to make things right
to give me back my love of life.
I try to be positive
Ever the optomist
never stay in
no opportunity missed
to laugh
to dance
or just to chat.
my life is one long party.
what is wrong with that?
What is wrong with that is
it is not how it feels
An empty house
more lonely meals.
I am the walking wounded
but the wounds don't show.
life seeps away from me
painful, slow.
Every day is an effort
keeping my spirit alive.
The journey is rough
but I continue to strive
to find lasting happiness
and true peace of mind.

- Comment from author about the poem: I found this one that I had written back in 2001. When I met my late husband in 2002 I thought I had found the lasting happiness that I had been looking for. It was wonderful while it lasted! I miss him so much.

A plight shared by so many, women and men alike, as we age. You nailed it with this fine poem, PP!
Thank you x
Yep feeling that-- authentic write!
Picking yourself up and moving forward is so difficult. It is tribute to the human spirit that so many people suffer loss and are resilient enough to find joy in life again. Hope you can move forward.
PP, your beautifully written poem shows the struggle and pain inherent after a loss of a loved one. But it also shows that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
It also reminded me how fortunate I am, and how grateful I have to be.
Thank you for your kind words. I know that I was so lucky to have a wonderful relationship with my husband. Some people never find their soulmate. Enjoy every day! Xx
Wow what a beautifully sentimental poem on a soulmate passed on. Superbly lyrical and marvellous rhyme scheme. The soulful lonely feel described in appealing wording. Kudos.
Nice to read from u again. Hope u will write your thoughts too about my latest poem, under it. I have been writing on other sites and they say they get fun and things from It.
