Venom

Baylee

I can no longer recognize

the venom I used to glorify

Looking at him

like staring into the eyes

of a stranger

Perhaps someone I met

in a wonderful dream

turned sour & stale

If I were to take two steps back

now knowing

what pure happiness feels like

Would I be disgusted

with this past version

of myself?

Most likely you would. The past never looks that great to its owner.

    Good writing, Baylee!
You might be disgusted, but you don't have to be. We all make mistakes, none of us is good all the time. The important thing is to recognize what was wrong and to make it right. And that you did!

Time changes us and situations. Time makes us wiser. You''ll never be what you were yesterday. If you looked back from yesterday then it would be the you of yesterday. Be gentle with yourself. We all have made some awful mistakes... i seem to be still making them.

    Thank you all
