Saved.

alissa

The room went silent and for a second,

the screaming voices stopped, no more yelling,

only heavy breathing.

She took one last look at him and simply

whispered “why won’t you let me save you?”

When his eyes refused to meet hers, she

walked out and never looked back.

They never spoke again and she saved

herself instead.

Great writing, Alissa! The hardest part is walking out.
