Protect your Cub
(Verse 1)
I wanna tell you the truth.
I'm accused to be a liar
Like I'm wasting my time and breath.
You only use your words
to belittle me to death
The core of my heart is depressed.
I wanna talk to you
without seeming like
a dull jewel in the rough.
Listen to me for once
(Chorus)
I'm not okay! I'm depressed.
I've got a lot on my chest!
You make me feel like I'm never enough.
I need a change, really fast.
Dunno how my heart can last.
I'm overwhelmed, protect your Cub.
(Verse 2)
I really wanna know
what it's like
to come to you for it all
Nowadays I try
to find a way to hide
because I wanna avoid your call.
Am I a bother to you?
What did I do?
To deserve so much hate?
You never appreciate!
I'm not okay! I'm depressed.
I've got a lot on my chest!
You make me feel like I'm never enough.
I need a change, really fast.
Dunno how my heart can last.
I look up to you, Protect your Cub!
(Bridge)
Please prove me wrong!
Let me talk to you!
Show me Love!
I'll tell my life to you.
I want you to know.
I'm not okay! I'm depressed.
I've got a lot on my chest!
You make me feel like I'm never enough.
I need a change, really fast.
Dunno how my heart can last.
Here comes the prey, protect your cub!

- Comment from author about the poem: This is a testament of how I grew up with my mother. I was never able to speak my mind, I was never allowed to make my own decisions. When I did make my own decisions, I was shot down below the belt and made to feel like less than nothing. I love my Mom to the moon and back, but she has no idea how much I hurt from her because I don\\\'t know how to talk to her. I am always being forced to be something or someone that is a far cry from what I am shooting for. I tried to show my talent, and it was apparently wrong in her eyes. A mother that hurts her son and acts like she doesn\\\'t care. Mom, I want you to notice me and let me talk to you. I love you!
