Merry Dream

poetboy123

Wind howling within my empty heart

Flying away while the sky is falling apart

Blinded by light, huddling into the shadows

Questioning the answers no one knows

Searching day and night, not knowing what to look for

Climbing an endless mountain, always certain, never sure

Guided and led to believe that a cage would set me free

Bound by loose chains, I'd never discover anything for eternity

Only down to earth would I ever soar

Finding peace within eternal civil war

Tears soothing heartbreak, blood mending scars

Sunk into normalcy within a world bizarre

Found gold by cracking the coal I've had for years

Seated in tranquility while riding through my fears

Opening every lock, unsurprised to find another key

Arguing even if everyone tells me to finally agree

By drowning, I have now learned how to breathe

Despite every loss, I see a new way to succeed

These miseries may haunt me, past them the joy I seek

Ignore the false strong, and follow the true weak

Once a raging flame, now a desolate pile of embers

Only by seeking shadows the light I will remember

Never lost while setting course with an endless map

Forsaking my fake fortune forever to have the chance to earn a proper scrap

Opposites may not always be as they may seem

For us to now awaken, sail upon a merry dream
