The Little Sonnets of Him

Clark

You are the rose
But I constantly hurt
From the thorns
You made
On the outside

I would have never
Asked you to change
But with every scar
Laying on my skin
I begin to wonder if
Change is a good thing

We bang each other's
Heads against the wall
And say it's
Out of love

He says to take his sweater
If I'm cold
But then sees me
Put on my black jacket
With all the roses

Her eyes shined
When he lied but burned
As he told the truth

Rose means for look, not to hold.
