Gut feeling

I knew you would leave
But why does it feel so soon
Why did time go so fast
I want to go back
I could make kisses longer and sweeter
And hugs much tighter
I wish I loved you more fiercely
But my body was scared
Things like this don't end well
My gut knew but my heart just wanted you
My heart loves your smile
Ouh and when your eyes sparkle
The way you grabbed my neck
The way sex wasn't just sex
The way you took my soul not just my body
The way your voice just made me melt
The way my heart didn't see your flaws
The way my skin craves your touch
The way my mind craves your presence
It must be to good to be true
And it was
Your gone
And all I have is your memories
But memories get blurred
Cravings change
Love gets lost
Lines don't stay in touch
And my heart is broken yet again
Wanting what my gut knew not to.

Love is painful, that's for sure.

    Nicely written. Welcome!

Wonderfully written. Irresistably loving into disaster and heartbreak. A song sung often but beautifully sung here.
