Vs. Nature

a__pott

The river runs longer than the road.
Everything all living things used to know.
The sound echoes in my head.
I'll try to forget it you know I will, but I can't.
The concrete suffocates the ground
The lights outshine the stars.

I hate every bit of it.
But I am the one who put it there.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wrote this poem after I was in the car and my father and he hit an animal. I started thinking about the terrible things man kind has forced upon nature, so I put down my feelings in words!

Join the club. There has to be a better way for us to occupy our beautiful planet than out continual rape. I have no answers, but i do call out for change as you do here. I recently wrote something similar.
Your writing is good and thought provoking.

We kill, we maim, we change, without any regard, but every once in a while nature does come back to teach us a lesson.
      Great writing a__pott!
