So Long, Eclipse!

So Long, Eclipse!

He chooses of all today! — as the moon blots out

The sun — to address the nation on Afghanistan,

Strafed — where for fifteen years we’ve engaged

Taliban, Mr. blustery orangutan, baboon blotch on

Our land: blackguard! racoon! craven raven, dim as

The far side of the lune, bandido del anti-haven.

Lies and evil elide under his tongue, President

Who can’t to enlightenment our own young.

Gilt-goried, vainglorious hawk, his foul locker

Talk insults the aura of his subsequent-first lady.

Marriage must be a dark night of her greed.

Imagine waking to that thunder-clap screed . . .

Twittering dim, loathe to light the country’s

Honorable path, slack Mercury, his radioactive

Corona and coarseness corrode harmonies’ order,

Canting ’bout an ‘enemy’ wall at our gringo

Border! As black-eyed soleil wends its southerly

Course, our illuminati foresee t’plenary divorce.
